The Eight-Pointed Star can be seen as my visual representation of the Noorun ala Noor concept.
In tezhip, each layer of golden leaves, and the radiating arms of the pattern reflect the idea of light multiplying and expanding.
The divine light in Islamic mysticism is believed to be layered
and all encompassing. The perfect symmetry of the eight pointed star, the floral design that emanates from the center, represents the idea of spiritual growth and expanding knowledge, the gold adds brilliance as a whole.
The eight-pointed star has been used as a symbol of cosmic order and divine presence, particularly in Islamic art, where it is often associated with the heavens and the divine throne.
