Zaenab Imaduddin is a Mumbai based watercolour artist who specialises in traditional and Islamic patterns and motifs. Her technique involves using traditional geometric and biomorphic grids as her structure, embellishing them with patterns from vegetal scrolls, floral, fruit motifs as well as horses, birds, deer and lions to name a few and redrawing them from angles that changes the viewer’s perspective.

With an academic background in Islamic Jurisprudence from Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah, Arabic Academy in Surat, India, and holding a doctorate in Education Leadership from the University of Bristol, her goal is to delve into her faith’s intellectual heritage through the medium of visual arts, capturing profound concepts and values in visual narratives.

For Zaenab, art transcends mere visual spectacle; it becomes a potent medium for going beyond cultural differences into a space of commonly honoured values, enmeshed within timeless wisdom and symbolism of ancient Fatimid philosophy. Therefore, her art serves as a bridge across eras, a testament to the enduring legacy of ancient philosophy. This innovative platform for Dawoodi Bohra artists not only promotes traditional art and culture but also endeavors to dissolve cultural boundaries, delving into the very spirit of a shared human experience.

Her artistic odyssey has graced exhibitions in Mumbai, Indore and Delhi in India and UAE and East Africa.
