Growing up, I thoroughly enjoyed making dresses for my dolls, for myself and, later, for my daughters. From bolts of fabric to shards of glass, my early glass dresses were a metamorphosis of my early craft forms. Since I had no formal art education up to that point, I had to learn by doing and by taking classes as I went along.

I set out to explore my ability to take a vision/fantasy and create a form which enlivens the beauty of glass and lets me learn patience, exploration, decision making and creativity. The more I work with glass, the more I am drawn to it. I learned by designing my own dresses using a variety of color, texture, size and shape. I enjoyed making these feminine “Dancing Dresses”.

As the world changed, I had to as well. I witnessed hate, fear, anger, crime, killings, distrust and growing acceptance of these. Our government leaders were fueling the flames or turning their backs. Buy a gun. Shoot. I created new American Flags, “The Divided States of America”, to illustrate how I see our country. I don't want another child or adult killed through senseless or hateful violence. I want our country to deal with our racism, the rising antisemitism and raging police brutality. I, like so many others, want a "United" States of America.
