Born in Mexico and raised in Maryland, Juan has always been drawn to Art. He was raised surrounded in Mexican customs, traditions, and media. He started printmaking as an assignment from school centered around the idea of gratitude and immediately thought of his upbringing in an immigrant household. Juan has a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art. His work explores the memories of his upbringing and highlights what he sees to be important aspects of his cultural experience.
