Artist: Fleming Jeffries
Fleming Jeffries is a visual artist, printmaker, and educator who explores the intertidal zone between human/nature. Her work has shown in the US and internationally; she has participated in art residencies, including Fine Art Work Center’s Winter Fellowship (Provincetown MA) and Guanlan Original Printmaking Base (Shenzhen, China). She received a BFA (Printmaking) and BA (Russian) from University of Alaska Anchorage, and an MFA (Printmaking) from Rhode Island School of Design. Fleming completed the Printer Training Program at Tamarind Institute of Lithography (Albuquerque, NM), later assisting in the re-writing of the Tamarind Book of Lithographic Techniques. She has taught printmaking for 15 years at VCUarts Qatar (Doha, Qatar), George Mason University (VA) and American University (DC). Fleming currently teaches as Artist-in-Residence in Screenprinting at AU’s Department of Art & Art History.
At Pyramid Atlantic, Fleming primarily works in Pyramid's printshop, screenprint darkroom, and her private studio #2H.
