Artist: Elaina Barbour
I make art that makes me happy. I gravitate towards art of nature subjects, but enjoy making works that remind me of my memories or from observation as I make new ones. I am a senior at St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a double major in Psychology and Art. My home-base is Rockville, MD and I have been exploring different art mediums since elementary school. This year I have started to explore printmaking for the first time and relief printmaking is my new favorite medium. I enjoy experimenting with the colors and the way marks translate on paper. The process of printmaking allows me to get into a flow, stay in the present moment, and decrease anxiety.
