Thistle Flower, made of acid-aged steel, was installed in the Gene Leahy Mall in 2003 as part of the Wind & Water Sculpture Project (2002-05) created in conjunction with the Omaha Summer Arts Festival. It was moved from that location when renovations to the mall began in 2019, and placed in its current location as part of the Hanscom Park Lagoon revitalization.
