MessageBIOGRAPHY
Inspired by the fiery hues of Maryland autumns and sunsets, Porschia Danielle initially pursued Construction Engineering to compromise. This detour honed her technical mastery of form.
However, the pursuit of status led to deep disconnection. After hitting “rock bottom” in 2017, she surrendered a spiritual call to reclaim her divine gift. This act of faith became the cornerstone of her art.
She creates figures and abstracts to inspire hope, warmth, and joy, inviting contemplation and emotional honesty, and connecting viewers to the loving presence of God. The tension between her structured past and soulful, liberated art defines her journey of reclamation and redemption.
Statement
My work explores identity, beauty, and the breadth of the human experience. I am driven to capture and embrace moments of unapologetic visibility through expressive portraiture that serves as an affirmation of Black identity in all its varied forms.
Using a radiant palette of golds, yellows, and oranges, I create a sense of luminosity and energy—a literal representation of the sun and a symbolic representation of the Son as sources of life. Through my art, I hope to invite space for contemplation and emotional honesty, honoring the seen and unseen elements of the life experience.
