A prompt for an online challenge with the theme "magenta" gave me an excuse to use the amazing reference image I had on file to create this striking painting. I always love photographing and painting roses. It all started because I actually found them really difficult as a subject - something I became determined to overcome. Now they appear regularly in my practice. This particular one has a lovely open form that shows the stamens, and the colour is a wonderful bold colour that would bring a pop to any space.
