The Meadowcroft Rock Shelter and Historic Village display was designed by the Senator John Heinz History Center and features a film related to the area. Meadowcroft is the oldest site of human habitation in North America. The Senator John Heinz History Center’s Meadowcroft display educates travelers and native Pittsburghers on the Meadowcroft Rock Shelter and 18th Century Village. The Meadowcroft Rock Shelter famously disproved the ever-popular Clovis Theory, and the display works to represent that through film.
This display is large, with a screen surrounded by scenic and themed natural imagery.
