This series of pop art styled paintings illustrate the story of African American women being racially profiled in a place of business whose target audience is African American women. Featuring common activities such as crossword puzzles, the artist hints at a metaphoric statement that the understanding of what racism is, should be just as easily recognizable as the activities shown in each painting. Using cut out 3-D elements, Wavy Wednesday emphasizes these items in the store while also highlighting the blatant discrimination surrounding the central characters.
