Art Starts Here is a display that celebrates the artistic talent of various Pittsburghers. The exhibit was designed by Carnegie Mellon University and includes artists Renee Elise Goldsberry, Burton Morris, Billy Porter, Paula Wagner, Alison Fierst, Jeremy Lasky, and more. These are all figures who have made significant contributions to the Pittsburgh art scene.
This display takes an almost X-like shape when viewed aerially. The center focus of this work is a freestanding panel oriented in a portrait view manner. There is a large screen with a video in the middle of this panel, with the words “Art Starts Here” in a red location bubble above it. Four more freestanding panels of the same size and shape are oriented at the corners of this center object. They are all double sided and provide information and pictures of notable Pittsburgh performers and artists.
