Turkey hens can get quite scruffy by the end of the brooding period when the eggs have hatched. This one has some loose feathers hanging out. They stay on the nest for a long time and don't get off to eat much.

I tried to convey the feeling of the different structures with a variation of very thin and thicker paint.
