Rockville, MD
Gallery 209 provides a venue for local visual artists and sculptors to show their work through changing exhibits each month.
MessageThis abstract wall sculpture of a sleeping barn owl was Raku-fired, where pieces are fired to 1800 degrees, removed from the kiln while red hot and then plunged into combustible materials. This causes the glaze to crackle and allows smoke to carbonize the cracks in the glaze.
