This abstract sculpture of a sleeping barn owl was Raku fired where pieces fired to 1800 degrees, taken out of the kiln while red hot and plunged into combustible materials which burst into flame, causing the glazes to crackle, carbon to blacken cracks in the glaze, and revealing vibrant hues in the glaze.
