Rockville, MD
Gallery 209 provides a venue for local visual artists and sculptors to show their work through changing exhibits each month.
MessageThis is a wood-fired sculpture of a burrowing owl. Wood-firing is a 36-hour long process of constantly feeding a kiln with wood to achieve temperatures so hot that the ash actually melts, glazing the pieces with the minerals trapped in the wood.
