This painting extends my sustained investigation of color, repetition, and vibration as vehicles of felt experience.
This work was purchased in 2025, and the client desired the work be extended by adding additional panels on the left and right to be an appropriately larger artwork to anchor a great room over a fireplace.
Bull’s-eye is built from accumulations of concentric circular forms—units that operate simultaneously as cells, lenses, galaxies, and pulses. In Bull’s-eye, the structure tightens.
The picture plane is more compressed and immersive, the circles multiplying into a near-allover matrix that amplifies optical intensity and rhythmic insistence. What begans as a constellation in earlier paintings becomes system.
