Have you heard of "Road Scholar?" They are a travel-for-education-adventure company for older adults. Some of their offerings include learning in the arts including several at a craft school in Williamsburg MA. Luckily for me, they also have a grant program for people who are caregivers for a loved one or caregivers who have lost their loved one within the past two years. I fit in the latter category so after some convincing from my sister I applied for the grant. Like any grant process there is the ever important essay detailing several topics. One of which is how the particular trip chosen serves the applicant, another is why the applicant is deserving. In fact they have specific questions for consideration.
I guess I was convincing because I got the grant and I will be traveling to Snow Farm to learn metal work jewelry techniques. I am very excited and can't wait to have these new skills at hand to explore and to expand my art.
