Evolution is the key to success. My evolution as an artist included a shift away from painting to bead weaving while I cared for my mother who had Alzheimer's Disease. After a while even that had to slow down as caregiving took more and more of my attention and energy. Sadly, she died in November of 2016 and after a year plus of grief I am embarking on new artistic explorations.
I have been (still am) a dancer, a visual artist, a thinker, an astronomer, and an educator. After all this I should write a book. Or a screen play.
My artistic training has been kind of minimal. After high school, between ballet gigs, I had a scholarship at the Silvermine Guild of Artists school (this is way back; before they were an accredited college). Later on I took a few standalone classes at Art Students League and School of Visual Arts. Mostly, though, I am self-taught through reading and experimentation.
I am excited to be able to thread those tiny needles and experiment with glass, crystal, and gemstones. As well as once more put brush and knife, loaded with paint, to canvas.
