Is this creation? A formless void suddenly populated by something coherent? The massive bead woven medallion exhibits the spiral shape we so often find in nature. It seems it floats (for want of a better term) somewhere where light is a newfangled concept.
Both the oils and the acrylics are thick paints and when properly laid can give me a lot of texture. This painting, though, begain with a thinner layer of acrylic paints; red at the top blending into black on the bottom. This was then covered by a thick texture of acrylic that would thin out the closer to the center we got. On top of that, I did the same thing with the even more thick oil paints. This painting took a long time just because of the bead work, but also because oil paints take a long time to dry.
