I first got the idea for "Firestorm" from seeing some photos of the big fires in the western United States. I had some leftover still wet paint from another, larger painting I was working on and so decided the time was right to start this one as well. I recalled seeing the silhouettes of trees embedded in the flames and added the dark bead weaving as a reflection of their presence in some of the more striking photos.
At some point I will elaborate on the story it adds to the series as a whole.
Though small. this canvas, too, is gallery wrapped.
