My favorite desert is the Atacama in northern Chile. I've been there. In the middle of the night. The darkest dark possible. So dark we could not see our hands in front of our faces. (I know, because I tested it out.)
Because of this darkness the sky was brilliant! Truly black with sparkling gemstones set in it. And a comet. I was there, in fact, to see el Cometa Halley. Even more striking than the comet, at least for me, was the twin companion galaxies to our own galaxy; the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Small Magellanic Cloud. We have nothing comparable in the northern skies.
So here's a pair of earrings with stars on a dark background and a pair of sunset blue beads on either end.
Length is under an inch. Hypoallergenic niobium earwires are that purple that glows on the undersides of clouds barely receiving sunlight.
