MessageStatement
Painting, an act that lies between a noun and a verb, is a silent form of communication. It is an arena of dreams with the power to create alternatives to the destructive currents of public discourse. My paintings are visual barometers, registering what might be called evolutional entropy. They reference spiritual mythologies, the mysteries of Mother Nature and the blooming of hope.
Throughout various world cultures in history, there have been mythological archetypes of a divine feminine power. This work is focusing on the hope for an explosion of empathy, a wordless act of calling forth a sacred feminine force — divine water protectors, grand mothers who have planted seeds for their youth, “volunteers” of the gardener who does not throw away his waste materials, but instead brings flowers from the compost.
My process can be understood as a way of stimulating hopeful healing thoughts while tapping into the internal and external waters that connects us all.
