Midland, Michigan
A collaborative of emerging and established artists in the Tri-Cities, MI area.
MessageBorn and raised in Midland, Michigan Kristianne developed a love for art at a young age. Her journey into encaustic art began when she discovered the unique properties of beeswax and its transformative qualities. Fascinated by the medium’s ability to create texture, depth, and luminosity, she embarked on an exploration of encaustic techniques.
Kristianne draws inspiration from the natural world, finding beauty in the unusual and attempting to bend reality into something of her own Imagination. Through her art, she seeks to evoke emotion, provoke curiosity, and create a connection between the viewer and her artwork.
Using a combination of traditional and experimental techniques, she pushes the boundaries of encaustic art, constantly challenging herself to explore new possibilities. She embraces the fluidity of the medium, allowing the wax to guide her artistic journey to create unexpected and dynamic results.
Kristianne has exhibited her work in numerous galleries and art shows, including Studio 23 in Bay City, Creative 360 in Midland, AuSable Artisan Village in Grayling, Kirkland College and Live Oak Coffee House. She also has participated in several juried fine art fairs throughout the state of Michigan, where she’s earned multiple Honorable Mentions. Most notably, Kristianne’s artwork has been featured in the Michigan Artists All-State Juried Exhibition, Bay City’s Art Around the City Series, Midland Artist’s Guild Juried Exhibition, earning both a First Place and Member’s Choice award, Emerging Artists Juried Exhibition, earning a Best 2D Award, and the 50 Artists of the Great Lakes Bay Juried Exhibition, where she earned an Award of Merit. She is also an instructor at the Midland Center for the Arts, specializing in encaustic techniques.
