For most of the year, the Hale River runs dry, quietly nestled in the southeast of the Northern Territory, Australia. Painting on location in one of its tributaries, near the East MacDonnell Ranges, was both a challenge and a transformative experience. This artwork seeks to embody the river's life-giving essence, experienced not just through the paintbrush but with my entire being. The relentless sun blazed overhead, while the sheltering trees provided pockets of soothing shade, offering moments of relief amidst the intensity of the outback.
