A self-taught Filipino Australian artist working in acrylics and watercolors, blending impressionist and realistic styles to capture emotion and depth.
MessagePam Wardner is a self-taught Filipino-Australian artist based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Working with acrylics and watercolours, she explores both expansive and intimate formats across paper, canvas, and plywood. Whether painting en plein air or within the quiet focus of her home studio, she brings depth and emotion to every piece.
Before dedicating herself to art, Pam built a fulfilling career in corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, property development, and academia, holding a master’s in management and a doctorate in urban economics and economic geography. This academic foundation shapes her approach to painting, infusing it with discipline, curiosity, and a commitment to craftsmanship.
Her current focus is capturing the essence of her adopted home, Australia—its natural beauty, strong light, and unspoiled landscapes. She documents the country’s vivid scenery through her work while exploring everyday objects, including animal portraiture with the same emotional depth.
Pam’s artistic journey is a testament to the seamless intersection of knowledge, creativity, and personal expression, crafting a legacy that unites scholarship with passion.
Statement
As a self-taught artist, I am passionate about exploring various styles in acrylic and other media. Grounded in the fundamentals of colour and composition, I start each painting with a bright underpainting and use bold, clean strokes, often using limited palettes to create vibrant works in an impressionist style. Each subject I paint holds personal significance, reflecting the emotional connections that inspire and motivate me. Through my paintings, I share a part of myself, inviting others to see the world through my eyes and discover the beauty and meaning of my interpretation that may have been overlooked or unseen.
