My return to painting after a life tragedy was healing for me. I received my BFA, married my college sweetheart, was raising our two daughters and collecting art rather than painting because I had put my painting practice on the back burner. Life was good until we received the diagnosis that our youngest daughter had leukemia. She lost the battle a year later. Through years of grief and time, my creative spirit reignited. I purchased tubes of paint and brushes on my 50th birthday and started painting daily. I was instantly drawn back into the emotive qualities of paint which allow me to be honest on the canvas. Every day I strive to keep moving forward, to be my best self and to share my emotive paintings with the world.
I am inspired by jazz music for its improvisational qualities, the colors of the changing season, and a beautiful sunset along the beach.
