Spring in DC or Japan notably features the Cherry Blossom Tree. Visitors plan trips just to see them. I wanted to add something unexpected to this piece. I had viewed photographs I took at Frank Lloyd Wrights Rosenbaum House in Alabama and used the influence on the tree bark. The barks color and design were inspired by the home. I found the Mid Mod vibe fit the painting. I love the way it turned out. My collector had two of these made to enhance the story in their Mid-Century Modern home.
