  • Artist: Terry Heckmann

Terry Heckmann is a self-taught artist living in Tyler, Texas. She works in gouache, ink, and colored pencils. She enjoys painting wildlife and is currently working on a series of Galapagos Island wildlife.
After joining PORAL in 2023, she entered her paintings at the Tyler Rose Festival art show her first art show, where she won a blue ribbon and “best of amateur” award in the Amateur Animal category. In 2024 she was awarded a blue and red ribbon in her category.
She works from photos; some of her own and some released for use by professional wildlife artists. She loves nature and hopes to convey the characteristics and personality of the subjects she paints.
