Heather Burris
Artist Bio
Heather‘s paintings represent her love and passion for Western culture, rodeo horses and various landscapes. Her experiences living on a ranch in East Texas serve as her inspiration. Every painting represents a moment in time and lived experience. The combination of land, livestock, and the work of ranchers and farmers creates scenic landscapes that reflect cowboy heritage. Heather has a lifelong passion for horses and is an avid barrel racer living the western lifestyle, she is a proud wife, mother and grandmother .
Heather has painted since she was a young girl and was self-taught by giving all the glory to God for the gift.
She credits other Artists who inspired her and helped her along the way of her journey, especially her dear friend and godmother Pam block a professional artist who inspired her at a very young age and has been her idol.
After competing in various competitions in junior high in high school, she continued her love of PAINTING for years to come. A substantial portion of her work has been given away as gifts and as donations to help others or non-profit organizations.
Her commissioned work reflects the importance of sharing art that brings joy and creates lasting memories on canvas, which can be cherished for a lifetime. Whether it be rodeo, pets or horses she puts her love in every stroke .
Heather‘s work has been shown in many juried art shows in the local area during competitions and art shows excepted and winning ribbons and honorable mentions in Mineola Art Show, in WINNSBORO at the Cowboy Tales Art Show and the Tyler Rose Garden Art Show . She also was honored to receive the People’s Choice award at Gallery Main Street in Tyler . One of her greatest achievements was being accepted to the Spirit of the West Art Show in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and selling her original piece there.
For the past 15 years, Heather has dedicated herself to her painting career with great passion and humility. She is delighted to display and sell her work at two select galleries: Tricia Rose City Framing and Gallery in Tyler, and Rose City Art Gallery and Gifts in Tyler.
Heather is honored and excited to be part of the Palette of Roses Art League, which has greatly inspired her art over the past three years. Heather is privileged and honored to be chosen to be one of the founding artist at the Rose City Art Gallery in Tyler, where she displays all her original paintings, prints
