Christie Joy was raised in the Piney woods of East Texas. Surrounded by rose fields, lakes and forests her reality was always beautiful. She attended college at Texas Tech University. Her degree in Merchandising and Marketing helped her hone her business skills. After college she moved throughout Texas and Alabama. She owned an award winning Pet Sitting Business and mentored new entrepreneurs. She enjoyed this pursuit as it lent her to being at home to raise her two boys. When they went away to college her creative side emerged. The boys bonus room was soon turned into an art studio. She experimented with several mediums and fell in love with the Impasto style. Thick brush strokes and bright colors became her trademark. The moniker of "Happy Art" soon stuck. Now Christie currently shows her work in galleries throughout Texas and Alabama. She is on the Board of the Palette of Roses Art League in Tyler, Texas, She is a founder of the Rose City Art Gallery and Gifts and a manger of the Gallery.
