Doodle Freely
The Richland Library commissioned Marius Valdes to create a permanent art installation made from over 1,500 hand drawn bookmarks on a 50 x 9 foot entrance wall for the newly renovated Teen area at Richland Library Main. Many of the bookmarks were created by Valdes with help from the community using Doodle Freely bookmark kits.
Valdes was Richland Library’s first artist-in-residence. The Doodle Freely Bookmark Art Project was created with the assistance of University of South Carolina graphic design students: Ashlyn Murphy, Sarah Stevens, Alex Rusnak and Rachel Allison.
