The sculpture "Vortex" is fabricated from three quarters inch thick aluminum plates that have been water jet cut, rolled, welded, bead blasted, and powder coated. Each wave is approximately 8 feet high by 12 long. The space between the elements will have 51 inch clearance.

''Vortex'' seeks to make an Identifiable marker between the campus and the neighborhood. Its curling motion invites pedestrians in to experience the artwork, while its active surface and warm colors are a visible and pleasant presence for the passersby.
