ARTIST BIO
Kara Coonrod is a multi-disciplinary artist that utilizes mediums such as ceramics, sculpture, digital technology, fibers, and metals in her pursuit of creative expression. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston in 2019 and is scheduled to receive her Master of Fine Arts from Missouri State University in the spring of 2026.

She has previously exhibited work in residency group shows, such Project Row Houses (Houston, TX), and currently practices at her home and studio at MSU in Springfield, Missouri. Her current body of work explores aspects of the human body, primarily focused on minute components of the female reproductive system, neurological processes, and the psychological, social, and political spheres that shape the beliefs she holds regarding individual sexuality, reproduction, and her personal existence as a human being first, woman second.
