ARTIST STATEMENT
Alicia Mau is a portrait artist based out of Springfield, Missouri. Using creativity to bring out her feminine side while encouraging all walks of women to hold their power, her work took a more serious tone focusing on women’s rights in her series,
“NOT YOUR ___”
Having two daughters of her own, she channeled pain from abuse into this series as a way to encourage not only her girls, but all girls, to speak up in times of injustice.
