STATEMENT: This quilt is about the element Curium, which was named after Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Noble Prize. Curium is used in making space probes, so I included those, along with stars for Marie’s eyes. I call the quilt Curious Curium because curiosity is common in both scientists and artists.
