Trunk Show at Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild

Trunk Show at Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild

On September 2, 2018 I presented for the first time my trunk show entitled From Africa To Atlanta By Way of Arkansas to the Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild. The trunk show is named for my memory quilt of the same name (shown above) and is my loose autobiography interpreted through quilts. I shared 20 of my most treasured heirloom quilts with the guild.

I was surprised that my friend Laura Sorton showed up unexpectedly. We have been quilting together in the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild for over 17 years. That made the experience extra special although all of the guild members were super nice.

I think everyone enjoyed my quilts, and I was happy to show off some of my heirlooms that do not get out that much. Here is one of my all time favorites Atlanta Album (This Ain’t Baltimore). Sorry the picture sucks😢 but the quilt is beautiful.

I stayed for Show and Tell which is the highlight of every quilt guild meeting. The creativity of quilters is always amazing and inspiring. The Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild meets on the first Sunday of each month at Tiny Stitches Quilt Shop in Marietta if you are looking for a guild. For me, it was a very pleasant way to spend Sunday morning, and I left happy. #fromafricatoatlantabywayofarkansas #ovssensationalseptember
