Quilts make the best memory gifts, and I love giving them. Legal Shades of Gray was a gift for Kendric Smith, who retired from the DeKalb County Law Department after 12 years of service. However, Kendric and I had worked together earlier in life at the City of Atlanta Law Department and were reunited at the DeKalb County Law Department.
Legal Shades of Gray fits Kendric perfectly. The quilt was inspired by what I call his happy wisdom — always willing to joyfully share his legal knowledge and to encourage others to maintain a happy work life balance. In addition to being a great lawyer, Kendric sings in the Atlanta Symphony Chorus.
The back of the quilt is travel fabric. Kendric has always loved to travel, and he is headed to Europe for six weeks!
