Give Yourself A Blue Bouquet

A new addition to my GIve Yourself Flowers series

Give Yourself A Blue Bouquet

I continue to add to my "Give Yourself Flowers" series. I have returned to my favorite blue flower to create Give Yourself a Blue Bouquet. It reminds us to be good to ourselves even when we are having a bad day. This time however, things are so bad you need a day just to let the sad feelings pass. Embrace the sadness for one day, then get up and get on with your life.

Give Yourself A Blue Bouquet measures 44x 56 inches. The blue flower is designed by Stephanie Brandenburg. Although the blue flower tends to be the focus point of the quilt, it coexists with African fabrics, batiks and other artisan prints. The entire piece is framed by a blue African print. I pieced it on my machine and then had it quilted on a long arm by Maxine Moore. I embellished it with painted buttons to add dimension to the piece.

The fabric on the back is a print depicting hot air balloons. It is intended to convey the feeling of needing to escape. There is a hanging sleeve for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.

I signed it on the front. This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
