One of the easiest ways to convey a message in a quilt is to include words. My quilt “Finding Fortitude” gets the job done.
According to my dictionary, fortitude is “mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, danger or temptation courageously.” I think that fortitude is one of the most important personality traits a person can have. Sometimes it is not readily available. You have to dig deep to find it.
“Finding Fortitude” is part of my red and white quilt collection. It will be included in my book of red and white quilts. It is pieced, appliquéd and quilted by machine.
