Most African American quilters make an Underground Railroad quilt. After over 20 years of quilting, I have finally made mine. I named it “Finally Found Freedom”.
My quilt showcases the traditional Underground Railroad blocks mostly in African fabrics. I added words to my quilt to convey what I imagined escaping slaves may be thinking as they took such a treacherous journey.
