Winter Blues is an original quilted wallhanging that measures 37 x 44 inches. The piece starts with a pieced center of various shades and textures of blues. The center is framed by borders including a batik snowflake outer border. Obviously, blue is the dominant color, but the blues are embellished with buttons and crystals. The piece is machine pieced and quilted with variegated thread in a cross hatch pattern.

There is a hanging sleeve on the back of the quilt, as well as, a label that documents the quilt. Although the piece is blue on the front, the back of the quilt features beautiful poinsettias to remind us that even when you are feeling blue, there is always something beautiful just around the corner. The piece is signed on the front by the quilter O.V. Brantley.
