Rugged Solitude was created by fusing little snippets of fabric using a picture for inspiration. No pattern. The landscape is framed by an African print and embellished with painted wooden buttons and green crystals in the grass.
I named it “Rugged Solitude” because I could image myself sitting on the cliffs enjoying the solitude in deep thought. I used an angel print on the back to carry out the theme of reverence for nature.
There is a hanging sleeve on the back of the quilt for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
“Rugged Solitude” was started in a class taught by Cindy Walter at the 2018 Chicago Quilt Festival. She is the creator of the technique.
