Sometimes I make a quilt to capture a moment. This quilt captures a moment. Daughter India and I were touring Italy and was spending a day in the Cinque Terre area of Italy. We were in a quaint restaurant sipping limoncellos and marveling at how far away from home we were. Our conversation turned to love and that’s when she told me she thought she was in love with her boyfriend. 2 things make this moment worthy of a quilt. FIrst, if your daughter is 20 something and still talking to you, that is a blessing. Second, it is a sacred gift if she talks to you about something important.
“Love and Limoncello” captures that moment. Lemons and hearts on a ruggedly happy background. Ahhh! First love!
This quilt is pieced, appliquéd and quilted by machine. There is hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt. The pieced back features hearts and lemons.
I signed “Love and Limoncello” on the front. This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
