"The Orphans" sculpture was created after the great destruction during the fires at Yellowstone Park. Many animals lost their lives or were left homeless and young ones were left without parents.
Ms. Shelledy served as a docent at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City for several years where she gained a great love for the animals of our earth. Because of this she has chosen them as the subject of her artistic work.
