My sister gave me some resurrection bulbs to plant the day of my daughters funeral. They shoot up beautiful green leaves in the spring, then they die back, and around September 4th, my daughters birthday, they bloom. I did not even look them up on the internet to see what they would look like, I didn't want to ruin my surprise. She died April 8th, 2011. That first summer my peaches, apples, and these little flowers were dormant, like they were in mourning. But the few next summers...WOW. The apples and peaches went crazy and the Resurrection flowers bloomed right on Cami's birthday. I just had to paint them.
