Statement
My work explores the relationships between the body and fabric, using reclaimed textiles, embroidery, and collected materials. Gender, as both a construct and an experience, informs the textures and patterns I employ, inviting viewers to engage with the nuanced dialogues of identity and societal roles. Each piece explores the multifaceted nature of human existence, reflecting the trauma and triumph that define our collective experience.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of my practice, guiding my material and method choices. I am committed to honoring the Earth and its resources, recognizing the intricate relationship between nature and art. By repurposing and reimagining materials, I strive to create works that are not only visually compelling but also environmentally conscious, thus promoting a more circular approach to living, wearing, and experiencing art.
Through my art, I aim to evoke a sense of shared humanity, inviting viewers to engage with the poignant themes of pain, love, anger, and resilience, creating work that catalyzes reflection and dialogue and fosters a deeper connection among individuals and communities.
