Nicki Adani, a Sausalito-based sculptor, painter, and designer, applies her extensive fashion design background to her art practice. Drawing from her multicultural heritage, she creates balance by integrating opposing elements. In her sculptures, she skillfully navigates the interplay of light and shadow, adding depth and dimension to her contemporary work. Consistently exploring themes of empowerment through a connection with our authentic essence, Adani’s creations have been featured at prestigious events such as Silicon Valley Sculpture, Burning Man, and BottleRock Napa, as well as in several Bay Area galleries. She received an honoraria grant from the Burning Man Arts Foundation for her installation, “Taking Flight.”
Committed to collaborative and community-oriented art projects, she has participated in build crews for significant installations at institutions including the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery and the Oakland Museum of California. Additionally, she was selected for an artist collaboration under the Sonoma ReOpening Grant program, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, further exemplifying her engagement in revitalizing communities through art.
Statement
My mission is to inspire individuals to connect with their essence—the part of the authentic self that holds unique purpose, clarity, and strength—and to live life to their fullest expression. Through my art, I intend to evoke feelings of joy, serenity, and empowerment, inviting viewers to look inward and realize the freedom and gifts gained by fully being ourselves. Drawing inspiration from vast landscapes and the majestic flight of birds of prey, my paintings and sculptures reflect the beauty and freedom found in nature. The interplay of light and shadow, the dynamic interaction between my sculptural works and their surrounding environments, is integral to my artistic expression.
