DESCRIPTION: Under The Big Top
This whimsical and theatrical doll stands on a coordinating platform. Cotton fabric body, wool stuffing. Features created with acrylic paint, pigma pen, Prisma color pencils. Lips, eyebrows, lids, flair of nostrils and fingernails hand stitched with Gutterman’s and Sulky thread. Highlight and shadow create depth. Blouse and overskirt is composed of cotton fabric from the Gustav Klimt fabric line in reds, oranges and gold. The apron is a finely sewn vintage hanky. Metallic crinkle fabric skirt and print pantaloons. Hair is three shades of rust, pumpkin, honey fine mohair yarn sewn into a sculptural styling on the side of her face. Curled hat is fabric and felt. Vest is reverse applique cutwork. Cute fabric shoes coordinate with the dress and apron.
