The pandemic need for mask wearing has made me consider the myriad of ways women wear invisible masks in their everyday lives. A mask of calm in the face of family stress, a mask of pleasantry in daily interactions, a mask of politeness, a mask of beauty, a mask of confidence - it is nearly endless. What would happen to society if we all took our masks off? What would happen to ourselves? Would we see beauty, or would we see monsters?
